I'M STILL WRITING

TO ALL MY WONDERFUL READERS,

I apologize for being out of the writing community for so long. I also want to apologize for the lack of access to certain books such as Rival Love, Rival Hearts, and Rival Dreams. I am in the midst of revamping and redoing covers, and also I want to add more fun content to these titles. I also want to let you know I am alive, well, and working on some newer books that I plan on releasing very soon. These are little treasures I've been working on but also they're a little out of my normal writing element. However, I do hope you enjoy them as much as you have my other works.

Here is a sample of a few things that are coming very soon ... Enjoy.

BACK TO YOU ....

Chapter One

Bailey

Dressed in black from head to toe, standing under an umbrella while a stranger wishes my mother goodbye. I had two whole years to prepare for this moment, but I’m still not ready. Cancer is a bitch. I said it and I meant it. It not only eats at the soul of the person who has it but also the loved ones who watch helplessly, taking bit by bit away from the person they love the most.

Strangers who knew my mom hugged me. The embraces I know are there but I’m so numb I can’t feel them. I know I’m hugging them back, but it also feels as if my body is on auto pilot and someone else is doing all these motions while I sit back and witness it. The strangers say things like  “my deepest sympathies, I’m sorry for your loss, and your mother was so amazing.” The hardest though, is looking through the sea of faces and not seeing his face. The one who should be here with me. Who should be beside me as they slowly lower the casket into the Earth. Where is my dad? He’s playing house with his new wife and my half sister Melanie.

“Love, we have to go greet the guest at the wake,” my aunt Sarah says. She’s not my real aunt. She’s my mom’s best friend and she lives in Washington. The state, not DC, Lord how I hate how people get this confused. In the next few days I’ll be on a plane with her flying back to the USA. Last time I was in Washington I try desperately to forget about it. How can anyone forget their 10th birthday? Especially, when your parents are screaming things like “Leaving!”, “Divorce!”, and “I’ve had enough!” followed with your cake being tossed on the floor. Then the next thing I knew I was on a plane from Olympia to London.

            “Bailey?” my Aunt Sarah says.

“Yeah, I know. I can taxi back.”

            She sighs. “Promise?”

I nod. She walks off and I stare at my mom’s coffin. “I love you,” I whisper.

HEY MR. DARCY ... SCREW YOU

Chapter One

Lizzy

The silken sheet brushed against my bare skin as I stood bathing in the moonlight. Waiting. I hold my breath. Squeeze my eyes shut, while scrunching my nose … hoping. And … nothing. No, literally, I feel like an absolute idiot as a shiver runs down my spine. It’s not cause of a shift it’s because I’m naked, under a sheet, in the snow.

I growl. There is no way I did this wrong. For Goddess-sake I’ve studied about this very moment my whole life. What the heck am I going to do now? I’m not only a failure to my family, but a laughingstock to my entire pack. Why is this happening to me? Did I offend the Moon Goddess in some way or perhaps in another life? I know one thing is definitely for sure, I cannot tell a single soul about this!

I shoot a glare at the moon then give it a one finger salute because right now it ruined my entire life from here to forever. If I did offend someone well, so be it. I hope they know I’m not very happy either. This is possibly the worst birthday ever and I have to return home as a total disgrace.

I want to cry but I can’t. My emotions need to stay guarded as always. If I even show a hint of sadness upon my return my parents will figure out what happened and probably disown me. Well, maybe not that far but pretty close. Oh, Goddess what if they cast me out into the human world?

With my thoughts running amuck, I manage to gather my discarded clothes and begin to change into them. Then I slowly do a two-day walk of shame back. All the while, part of me is debating if I should even go back. My parents will send someone to come looking for me though. They’ll be worried that I was attacked by rouges or something else, and right now that’s the least of my concerns. Maybe just maybe the answers to this damn thing are back home. Hopefully. All I know now is that I need answers! Especially for the how and why the hell is this even possible?

THE LAST IVORY

Chapter One

Ana

“Ana! Come here, you, wretched little beast!” my sister Maria calls out.

I run and giggle as always refusing to have my hair up even for the slightest moment. I loathe the pins, always poking and often wincing when one would become a little too secure in my hair. Mother hates my hair down. She often scolds me for it. Father, however, didn’t seem to mind. Excuse me, he used to not mind. He used to give me one of those looks, pretending to be cross but smirking shortly after. Recently, he’s been siding with my mother.

Penelope my maid latches onto my arm as I turn a corner and pulls me back into the room toward the chair of doom. “Honestly, Ana, you’re too old to be acting like this.” Her eyes narrow then soften as if she reminds herself of her place in life.

I huff and stick out my tongue then mock Penelope. “Honestly, Ana, you’re too old to be acting like this. Really, Penelope, can’t I for once have my hair down and free. Why must it always be up and proper and aggghhhh! Stop jabbing me in my head with those devilish things.” I stare at her from my mirror. I never minded her berating me or putting me down a peg or two. I did however, mind when she took her anger out on my scalp.

She rolls her big brown eyes. “Those times are well past you now, you know this m’lady. You’re near your seventeenth year and all eyes are on you now. Instead of worrying about the pins in your hair you should be concentrating on which man you’d like to take as a husband.” I love Penelope to death, I truly do. She never told any of my secrets. Most of the time, she gave excellent advice to any problems I was having. The only time her advice swayed was when she talked like the rest of my family about meeting a man and getting married.

I make a gagging noise. My sister Maria reenters the room panting. Her once perfect chignon of curls, cascade in dark spiral ribbons. Her light blue eyes set on me. “You’re nefarious, Ana! Just look at me! How am I to see my soon to be husband looking like a disheveled mess?”

I shrug. “Pretend it’s your wedding night and he ravaged you shamelessly.”

Penelope smacks my shoulder with her hand. “Ana! Bite your tongue. You can’t say things like that. Oh, if Lady Alexandria heard you talking like this, she’d likely think it was my doing and have me hanged.”

“Oh, please. Mother would never.” Penelope didn’t look convinced. Her slightly elder face frowns and pales as if she were turning into a ghost. I place my hand on hers and smile.  “Calm down, Penelope. Besides, I’d just blame them for making me watch not one, but all my siblings consummate their marriages. If I had a choice no one would be allowed to see that.” I truly hate the idea of marriage for this reason. I have others but this has to be a top one for certain.

I can hear Maria’s sigh. “Don’t worry Ana, the rate you’re going to find a husband no one will be able to see you properly without the help of readers.”

I turn in my chair so I can look at my elder sister. “Who says I am looking for a husband anyway? I mean what would I ever need one for? I can fight, use a gun, sword, out run any danger, read, write, play a musical instrument, and sew. Not that enjoy needle work, but I could if I had to. So, why would I need a man only to boss me around. That’s what I have you, my dear sister for and my other lovely siblings.”
